The debate surrounding ancient cultures not s relevant subject in our modern education has engaged a broad audience recently. From my perspective, I largely disagree. As it result, not only on ample theoretical discussion but also on practical evidence observable across different cases.
Learning the ancient cultures can help students to find the cultures root, establish values and develop critical thinking.Modern education tend to practical and vocation skills, the student may lack humanistic nurture.Ancient cultures has many valuable ideas and moral principles. When they start learning this traditions, they gain a clear know where the civilisation come from. For example, studying Confusion ideas about integrity and respect, it can teaches teenagers how to limited their behavior. On the other hand, learning ancient cultures can help people to preserve civilisational heritage and stop culture loss. There were many tradition costume, writing and traditional crafts are rapid disappearing. If the school open related course, young people will have chance to know and inherit. Without ancient culture included in education, collective civilisational memory will gradually fade away.
However, some ancient ideas have limitation and can not be used in modern technology subjects. Unlike subjects such as computer science or finance, knowledge about ancient history and traditions difficult to become job skills. Many students and parents will choose course that can help them to find vocation. Nevertheless, education is not only designed to prepare students for employment.
In summary, I largely disagree with ancient cultures not s relevant subject in our modern education. On the one hand, I think Studying ancient cultures enables students to discover their cultural roots. On the other hand, I also maintain that learning ancient cultures can help people to preserve civilisational heritage and stop culture loss.
