Some people hold the idea that advancement in technology has led to loss of crime , while others believe that it ,actually, encourages more crime to take place. Although latter view is true to some extend, I do believe that former view has significantly helped to reduce the number of crimes in today’s society.
One of the main reasons why I disagree is that while criminals may use technology for illegal purposes , at the same time government can also apply the same way to track down these activities. This is because as technology evolves , so do the tools and skills of the government also. For example, surveillance networks can be used to prevent this actions and help to find out the criminal itself. Secondly, it has become easier to find criminals’ digital traces like addresses or online activities, which can be track down by law enforcement. This can be attributed to the fact that polices are getting better at catching criminals by using new tech.
The development in technologies like surveillance networks and facial recognition have helped to reduce the number of crimes taking place in cities, which allows law enforcement to act quickly. For instance, when criminal is trying to leave country with the fake ID , technology like facial recognition can be beneficial for identifying the offender quickly. Another reason is that law enforcement can share information about crimes in online platforms and social platforms, which make traing the lawbreaker easily.
To summarize, the key points described in latter body has helped a lot in identifying crimes effectively and , at the same time ,reducing the number of crimes in today’s society.
