Nowadays, advancement of technology and integrating it in education has raised questions about the future of traditional classroom teaching and several individuals are predicting the disappearance of face-to-face education in classroom. While developing of digital tools and distance learning, I absolutely disagree with the view that traditional classrooms will disappear entirely. Instead, I believe that they will evolve in parallel with face-to-face learning by enhacing opportunities and quality.
One key reason of that traditional teaching will continue to play role in education is the social and emotional benefits via face-to-face interactions. In-person classes provide to students opportunities to socializing in school environment by developing interpersonal skills, collaborate, and build any kind of relationships, which are essential for personal development and will affect to person’s educational process. Additionaly, teachers play significant role in ensuring emotional support and guidance with some advices, which is difficult to maintain in online platform lessons. For instance some results of researches shows that students often more engaged and perform greater effectiveness when they learn in borders of school with supportive and interactive environment, these aspects of learning can not be replaced by technology.
Moreover, at least major fact is that particular subjects and skills need practice and more hands-on experience that are best accomplished in person. For example practical school subjects such as chemistry, physical education, art involve activities that cannot be replicated through screen. Hence, despite a probably created imitations of this practices by virtual simulations or online platforms, lack of depth of real-life experience will be noticeable. Teachers as a promoters of these activities, are crucial to ensuring students gain practical skills outside of theoretical knowledge borders.
In conclusion, although digital advancements perhaps will change educational system, traditional teaching in classroom unlikely will disappear in 2050. In my point of view, conversely these two methods will complement each other and develop overall education system.
