Positive And Negative

Band 5+: The use of social media is replacing face-to-face interaction among many people in society. Do you think it is a positive or negative development?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is believed that people will prefer using social media as a means of communication. I think this development could have both positive and negative influence in equal measure, as now will be discussed.

The emergence of social media to communicate can be seen as beneficial for several reason. Firstly , we do not need to worried about time and distance. Because nowadays , there a lot of social network such as Facebook , Instagram allow their user to use ” meeting call ” tool, hence, they can spending quality time with their family or sending an email even they are not in the same location. Secondly , the increase of network can make many young teenager opt for several app for meeting call. For instance , they can connect with many foreign friend not only local ones , by having a conversation together they can understand about each country culture and enhance their understanding.

Despite the favourable impacts mentioned above I believed that the time we spend most on screen can be considered as a detrimental development to some extent. The main draw back, as we have more time on screen, it can result in our weak eyes and also harm for our health . For that reason, more and more young people have a problem with eyes at young age . Another downside of this trend is that once you familiar with this types of communication , you will lose your confidence when you communicate with people in real word.

In conclusion , in spite of social media affect on people communication has some positive, I hold the opinion that communication through social media can also trigger adverse effects.
