In the era of technological revolution, non-face-to-face interactions have been increasingly prevalent. In my perspective, the pros could be overshadowed by the cons.
On the one hand, it is notable why this tendency brings a variety of advantages for people’s lives. Firstly, individuals increase the chance of maximizing their timeline. In fact, they are more likely to use their break time to shop online or video call with their loved ones. This paves the way for them to do multiple tasks without any face-to-face contacts. Secondly, with the widespread popularity of the internet, people find it easier to establish their friendship with professionals from other countries in their respective fields. For instance, workers who frequently participate in online meetings and international training programs in multinational corporations have greater opportunities to expand their network of international connections without face-to-face interactions.
On the other hand, I believe that this trend also exerts detrimental effects on people’s lives. First of all, non-face-to-face interaction means that people are gradually losing their meaningful relationships as online conversations can lack depth and authenticity. The absence of physical presence such as gestures and body language can make it harder to form genuine emotional connections, resulting in more superficial relationships over time. Another is excessive online activities puts individuals at the risk of losing their privacy. Many online platforms have insufficient security measures to protect sensitive information. This has created holes where hackers can exploit weak systems, stolening people’s data ,which exerts severe consequences including identity theft and financial loss.
In conclusion, in spite of the many benefits for the expansion of personal interactions and maximizing timeline for those who have proper purposes. I am convinced that this damaging downside can be more harmful for people in the long run.
