Band 6+: there are several social consequences to housing shortages in cities, and only the government can solve this problem.Do you agree or disagree

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The increasing housing problem in big cities is very serious in many countries. Firstly, this problem can cause social problems like homelessness, overcrowding, and high cost of living. Moreover, some people think that only the government can solve this problem. In this essay, I partly agree with this idea, because other people and companies also have responsibility.

On the one hand, the government has an important role in solving housing problems. Firstly, it is very important and it can build more affordable houses for people with low incomes, which help many families have a safe and stable place to live. Secondly, the government can make laws to control house prices and rent, because in big cities, prices rise very fast and many normal workers cannot afford a house. Without government support, people cannot solve this problem easy, it make more problem for the society.

On the other hand, other groups also have responsibility. For example, individuals can move to areas outside the city where houses are cheaper, so that they reduce pressure on crowded city centers. In addition, private companies can build more apartments and residential buildings, which is usefull when government efforts alone are not enough. Besides that, people can share houses or save money, which can make it more easy for them to afford accommodation. Sometimes, people do not want to move, it cause more problem in cities and this is very bad for living condition.

In conclusion, although the government plays an important role in solving housing problems, it is not the only solution, and other groups such as individuals and private companies should also contribute. Therefore, I partly agree with this opinion.
