There are conflicting views about who supposed to have responsibility in paying university education. While most of people argue that students or their parents should only rely on themselves, in my opinion, I would say the government have to play an important role in this problem.
The reason for my arguement is that with the investment comes from government, the society will have more educated students and residents who will earn more moneys, grow economy and pay more taxes. Therefore, providing tuition-free education for university students is a smart investment for government. Additionally, an individual with high quality of educations and knowledges can earn more money, simulate the economy, and pay more taxes throughout their lifetime.
On the other hand, there are some issues which proves that the support from government is essential. For most of the time, the tuition for attending university is required to cost arms and legs, which may lead students in going into debt for paying for their university education and prevent them from developing a successful life, since they can’t afford a house and get married. This negative situation is especially bad in the long term, for both individual and for the country. Additionally, there are some intelligent people who come from various family backgrounds. Since they can’t afford their tuition, their potential will be limited and they can’t give humanity a hand in improving society.
To sum up, while a quantity of people believe that each individuals should pay for their university education themselves, I will still stand by my viewpoint that the government should also have resposibility and help students and their family in this problem.
