In today’s fast-paced world, there is a growing trend where parents are choosing homeschooling instead of traditional schools. Despite some positive aspects of this transition, from my perspective, this trend is mostly disadvantageous as a whole.
It should be acknowledged that there are some advantages of home education. Firstly, it will foster closer parent-child relationship, which in my opinion is major benefit. By educating at home, parents will be capable of creating supportive environment where will spend more time with their kid. In contrast to traditional setup, adults will be encouraged to allocate majority of their time, which will lead to more supportive and nurturing environment, and constant interaction of parent and child. The perfect example in case is education at home, where parents educate not only through boring tasks and reading assignments, but also teach by hands-on-projects and practice.
DRawbacks of this trend, outweigh the benefits, however. It is widely known, that for sustainable development of child, social interaction with its peers is imparative. When children has limited group of friends, it can lead to jeopardized social and emotional growth of adolescents. The deep conversations with friends are important as well as learning formulas, they shape the person. Friend help to look at things from new perspective, often offering new perspectives. By homeschool education, kid will spend at home and will loose the opportunity to interact with other students. Furthermore, in traditional setting students will learn under the guidance of qualified mentors, with balanced approach. Instead of learning everything without any logic, in schools students will have tailored schedules, which suits their age abd level of knowledge.
Having discussed both views, I firmly believe that social interaction and balanced approach of teachers are more valuable for the development of growing teenager and child, because sitting at home will disanfrancise their growth as individual.
