It is becoming increasingly common for people to have a small family instead of a large one. While having a small family might cause children to feel lonely, i strongly believe the benefits overshadow the potention drawbacks.
On the one hand, it could be argued that owning a small family could pose two challenges to the members. The first is that children might feel lonely because they have fewer siblings to interact with. As they might spent more time alone, they may have fewer opportunities to play and communicate with siblings, especially when their parents are busy with work. As a result, they may struggle to develop their social skills. Moreover, children can also become spoilt because their parents may give excessive attention to them, this can make them less independent, and they do not have to compete with siblings to obtain what they need.
On the other hand, despite the drawbacks, I would argue that having a small family offers more benefits to the members. Firstly, parents can reduce their living costs, which can thus enable them to fulfil their needs more easily, such as accommodation, food and education. Furthermore, parents may have more time to spend with their family, allowing them to get more attention from their parents. As a result, it can help them create a strong emotional bond with each other.
In conclusion, while having a small family might cause children to become lonely and spoilt, it allows parents to spend more time with their children and also lower financial costs in their family. Having considered both sides, I remain firmly convinced that
the drawbacks are eclipsed by the benefits.
