Band 6+: There is less social contact between young and old. What are the reasons? What measures can be taken?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In this day and age, technology has given us many things. This means that everyone can have many electronic devices like smart phones. With this in mind, there are many young people who use smart phones for many hours. So, they spend less time with older adults like grandparents. In my opinion, no measures are necessary to close the gap between young and old generations because the young generation needs to be free, and the old generation need peace and quiet.

First, the young generation needs to be free from old-fashioned thinking. For instance, old-fashioned people think that using the smart phone make young people stupid. But, the young people can use the smart phone to become smarter and gain more knowledge. For example, a teenager can use their smart phone to do homework. While old people do not like to use smart phones, young people like to use smart phones, and young people can become smarter.

Second, old people need peace and quiet. Old people need time to enjoy their old age. They do not have the same interests as young people anymore. For example, nowadays, a child likes to view social media that has contents like Skibidi Toilet, but old people do not like this content. So, there is a big gap between old people and young people that cannot be changed.

In conclusion, there are no measures to close the gap between old people and young people. We should let young people be free and develop their minds with the latest technology, and let old people go rest in their retirement.

Research indicates that the characteristics we are born with have much more influence on our personality and development than any experiences we may have in our life. Which do you consider to be the major influence? Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Whether human personality and development are primarily determined by genetic inheritance or lifetime experience remains a widely debated topic among psychologists and sociologists. While biological traits establish a foundational baseline, I strongly believe that environmental factors and personal experience ultimately exert a more effect on an individual’s character and growth. Proponents of biological determinism argue […]

Is it possible to pay somebody to do things you don't want to do or you don't have the time to do? For example, household chores or looking after children. Is this a good way of providing work for others? Should people do these things themselves? So, is this a direct question or discuss both views?

Nowadays it is likeable that people can hire workers who can do some kinds of chores such as housework, purchasing groceries, and daily child care. While some do not see it as a great job opportunity, I strongly believe that, in today’s world, finding proper work is hard and these opportunities can be considered as […]

In some countries today, there is an attitude that 'anyone can do it' in the arts- music, literature, acting, art, etc. As a result, people with no talent become rich and famous and genuine talent is not valued or appreciated. Do you agree or disagree?

Arts such as paintings can be expressed in a variety of forms. It is widely argued that art is only for those who have innate talent and wealthy members of society. However, I totally disagree with this statement. I see the reason why people associate paintings with wealth and talent since most of the paintings […]
