Nowadays, people tend to prioritize to throw away broken items over fixing and reusing them for extended periods of time as in the past. The culprit of this tendency mainly stems from mass production and such a trend brings about environmental pollution.

Thanks to technological advancements such as robotics, many manufacturing companies are capable of not only producing goods in large quantities but in the short period of time as well. This results in availability of lower- prices products, encouraging people to buy new items for replacing broken items. For example, most of people tend to purchase the latest version of the Iphone because Apple applies automatic manufacturing into production.
The environmental consequences of this change are alarming, leading to the increase of waste generation. When more people discard defective products instead of repairing them, landfills are filling up with goods. These disposed items are made from non- eco friendly materials, such as plastics and metals, which needs hundreds of years to be broken. Therefore, people will suffer environmental degradation and pollution in the future.
In conclusion, the movement of taking out destroyed products is largely a result of large- scale production, leading to environmental contamination. Therefore, the local government should raise awareness of recycling and reusing crushed items to put a limit on throwing them away on the environment.
