One issue encountered by nearly every major city is traffic jams. This essay will suggest that increasing the number of vehicles causes late arrival in the workplace and an increase in fuel consumption and then argue that public transportation and environmentally friendly cars are viable solutions.
There are some consequences caused by traffic congestion as well as the escalation in the number of vehicles.Initially, many people will come late to their workplace, affecting their productivity which will cause economic downturn. In addition, the fuel that is burnt per minute by vehicles stuck in traffic jams lead to increased pollution. These pollutants will be exposed to many people and might increase problems in their respiratory system and thus premature death. For example, in Jakarta there’re more than 600 thousand people are infected by ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection)
Possible solutions to these problems would be to reduce the massive use of private cars by producing more public transportation and electric cars. If each person uses public transport, that can reduce the traffic jams in big cities and air pollution, so the air becomes cleaner and cooler. Additionally, When people use electric cars ,they reduce the use of source energy and also save the world. For instance, China continues to develop electric car technology and other technologies such as electric trains and electric buses, thus saving on petrol usage.
To conclude, the only ways to diminish congestion in metropolis cities are by using public transportation and electric vehicles which will then avoid health problems and give benefits to the economy.
