Nowadays, nuclear technology is a subject of concern for many people because, on one hand, it provides many benefits like electricity and medical development, but on the other hand, it may pose serious risks and lead to irreparable damage.
To begin with, nuclear technology can be extremely hazardous. Apparently, explosions from atomic bombs have terrifying and devastating effects on life on Earth. For example, Atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were only instances used nuclear weapons. A huge number of people were killed, some of them died from the explosions stright away, others died later from diseases caused by radiation. Many countries possess the nuclear weapons and using them even by two countries can lead to demise of millions of people and animals because of radiation and nuclear winter.
On the other hand, using nuclear technology has many peaceful applications. For example, it is used in medicine to cure people with cancer and to diagnose diseases with Position Emission Tomography. The other extremely useful inventions are nuclear power stations, that are providing cheap power. On top of that, it is a source of low-carbon electricity. However, there are significant risks associated with using it. For instance, there have been three huge disasters caused by powerful explosions in nuclear plants. One of the huge killed thousands of people in Fukushima.
In conclusion, using nuclear technology has as many benefits as risks. It can help to make our life better by improving the medical care level and providing electricity, but it is also is a big threat to life on our planet. However, there is a hope that in the future, mankind will disarm and will use it for only peaceful purpose.
