In this day and age, metropolises across the globe are continuously getting larger. This has led to a great number of drawbacks, most noticeably of which are environmental problems and incomplete urbanization. Both of these issues and the answers to them will be discussed in the forthcoming paragraphs.
To commence, the most imperative problem when it comes to expanding big cities is environmental pollution. Due to the fact that extra space is needed, clearing forests are essential but causing the downfall in wild life and tree population, which leads to the disappearance of nature as well as the decline in air quality. Furthermore, the increasing number of factories operated and vehicles also results in more damage to the environment. Conversely, numerous countermeasures are considered and already put into the test. The most common concept is to find a way to grow more trees in the urban habitats. For instance, the introduction of the green roofs, which are apartments and houses installed with plants and vegetation on the top, to big cities in USA and Canada such as Chicago, Florida, etc proves to be successful with the fresh space they provide.
Moreover, many urban cities in the world suffer from incomplete urbanization. In other words, many metropolises are expanded by authorities in a hurrying way, which leads to many parts of the cities not being equally developed like the others. For instance, many developing countries in the world such as Brazil and India, while having some of the largest cities in the world, most of them are filled with rats neighborhood and underdeveloped apartments, which decreases the overall aesthetic of the metropolis. This could be solved by slowly pouring resources into developing new areas and reflourishing the old ones, which requires precise plannings from the government.
In conclusion, the metropolises around the world keeps on expanding, which faces many problems such as environmental pollution and incomplete urbanization. However, both of these could be solved by growing more trees as well as plants and other vegetation, and accurate decisions from the governments in rennovating and extending some areas of the cities.
