Nowadays, moving to another country for higher education is a widespread trend among students. Besides some drawbacks, moving to other countries for higher education may have numerous benefits and from my point of view, it is completely advantageous for students who want to pursue a professional career overseas.
One of the drawbacks of studying abroad can be cultural adjustment which can take a long time to adapt to new differences for students. Students who are especially active in their daily life can face various challenging situations, weird customs, different personalities and social norms. All these factors can cause depression and homesickness. For instance, a student who is going to move to Germany for a higher education can get familiar with colder and more phlegmatic people. For that reason, some students can hesitate to move abroad.
Despite the understandable reasons why some students are in favor of not moving to foreign country, I believe that studying abroad may have a lot of advantages for students. Broadening horizons is just one of the benefits of higher education in a foreign country. Undoubtedly, students engage in various academic and daily activities in a foreign country, as a result of it they get a broader worldview. For example, learning some northern European organization’s special approach to the environment while implementing different kinds of business activities can be useful in terms of students’ thinking style.
In summary, considering both aspects and reasons I personally support the idea that refers to students’ choices on studying abroad.
