One of the most important benefits is the chance to explore different variety of food items. People now can have any food that they crave due to the advancement of trade in eatables. For instance, I love consuming kiwi fruit, but it is not commonly available in India but due to advancement in trade I can eat it now more often. Additionally, this new trend has also increased international relationship between countries. Due to the escalation in the trade which inturn led to the progress of many nations economy.
There are also different disadvantages associated with import of food. It would affect the local farmers and their income. As more people buy imported food items, they will loose their profits, which in turn affects the local economy. Moreover, it would also affect the quality and safety of food items. This is because many of the food will be added with preservatives to enhance its shelf life. For instance, there are many cases of cancer reports due to the consumption of canned and preserved foods.
In conclusion, nowadays more countries import food from different areas of the world. It has many benefits such as chance to explore variety of foods and also fosters international relationship. However, drawbacks include impacts on local economy and effect on quality and safety of food being imported.
