Nowadays, it is true that longevity has increased much higher than we thought. This is why every workplace has plenty of older citizens holding jobs. On the other hand, youngsters cannot get jobs because of the low number of vacancies. I will extend my perception after explaining briefly.
First of all, many older people tend to work for a long time in the job sector. They usually work hard for decades. Eventually, at a certain age, they should enjoy their retirement. Because of longevity, they do not quit their jobs so easily. For instance, at this age, they also do not spend their time solely. In addition, they have captured other upcoming applicants’ positions. Although at this age they should focus on their health as well as fulfilling their dreams. Even though, they could apply for a vacation pension, etc.
On the other hand, some of their peers, teenagers, try hard to get a job; however, they cannot apply for jobs. Moreover, they have a bunch of extra time after graduation. Instead, these young candidates become addicted to drugs and crime. Sometimes, they commit dangerous crimes such as murder. Currently, this is happening frequently. After all, they cannot get any job because of a shortage of vacancies. This trend should change for the good. Even though we all know these youngsters are our society’s future. What if senior citizens were aware of it? Then those crimes might stop easily.
To sum up, I definitely disagree with the statement that older citizens should retire at a certain age for good. This generation is the future of society. Everyone should consider this, as well as the steps the government might take on it.
