Nowadays,people live longer than before, because of the improvement of medicine system.It is important to consider that older people are going to be more than younger ones in the future. In this essay we will discuss both the advantages and disadvantages of that case.
Firstly,from a boarder perspective,it becomes apperant that the idea of people to live longer could present more opportunities for traditions to stay longer in time.It is widely acknowledged that the old generation of people carry with them valuable experience. For instance,in the area of diplomation and international relations,people from the old generation often know how to resolve conflicts in a peaceful way,thanks to previous similar moments in history. In addition to this old people can be helpfull to young people by being their teachers or mentors.They can become a link between the past and the future.For example of this is the care for the nature and its preservation.
Secondly,it is undeniable that if the old-age people are bigger number then the youngs,the birth rate will decrease.This is because young people will have fewer resources and opportunities to start a family. They will have to pay for social contributions and healthcare for the elderly. Moreover old people can push youngers to believe in values and ideas that do not correspond to contemporary reality.
Despite the disadvantages, it is clear that the benefits outweight the drawbacks. However,the balance between generations is key to the development and stability of society.
