21st century developments have revolutionized the world. However, it is argued that children of this season are faced with increased pressure than before. In this essay, I will first discuss the challenges experienced by the youngsters including unemployment and use of the internet. Subsequently, I will outline the benefits offered by modern evolution. In my opinion, I entirely agree that young people are more anxious than before.
One of the most significant pressures on the youth is lack of employment. Unlike in the past where there were a wide variety of jobs, nowadays, most human jobs are replaced by use of machines which are more efficient. For instance, a tea factory in my village that used to employ 1000 workers has reduced them by 50%. As a result, young people have limited job opportunities of being employed after schooling. Additionally, use of social media where people portray an unattainable lifestyle contributes to the youth’s stress. To cite an example, certain unrealistic body shapes are advertised on Digital platforms, especially for women. This not only lowers a girl’s esteem but also affects their studies. For these reasons, a modern child has more challenges than a traditional one, where technology and the internet did not exist.
Despite these challenges, the advanced technologies can be beneficial for the children. For instance, content creators are not only paid by the websites but also by the advertising agencies. This has greatly employed many young people. Moreover, if the minors are educated on the negative influence of social media, they would explore the internet more cautiously. Consequently, this would relieve them from being stressed over unrealistic accomplishments instead benefit from the technology.
In conclusion, digital era kids are under more pressure than in the past, due to less employment possibilities and exposure to detrimental side of internet. However, through proper education and taking advantage of available online opportunities, this anxiety can be reduced. In my view, i totally agree that today’s child is under more pressure because they are not properly educated about available new jobs and how to safely explore the internet.
