These days, too many focus is on going university for study academic subjects. I think people should be more encourage for vocational training because there not enough skilled worker like plumber and electric man in society, which are very important jobs that people need every day.
First, many people choose go university because they think it make them more easy to get job. But some people not good in study and they find it difficult in university. After they finish, they sometimes not find job for their degree and work in other low job like in cafe or shop. For example, in my city, many people with university degree work in small shop or restaurant because no job for them in their field. If more young people go for vocational course, they will learn practical skill which can help find work fast and start earning money sooner. This can also be better for people who are more interest in working with hands instead of studying books.
Another reason is job like plumber, carpenter, mechanic and electric work is very need in every place, but not many people want to do it. These jobs also can make good money, sometime better than job after university. But people think this job are low and not respect, which is not true. By tell young people for vocational study, it can make more skilled worker in these area and give more choice for career.
In conclusion, university is good, but vocational training need more attention. It give useful skill and better job chance. I believe school and parents should tell young people more about vocational option for better future.
