In today’s world, we can see that the activity rate of children is lower than it was in the past. Therefore, many people think that sport lessons must be mandatory in schools. I completely agree with this. In this essay, I will talk about different views and also explain my idea.
Some people believe that if schools make sport lessons compulsory, then these schools will have to provide many facilities, which requires a lot of money. Some others argue that forcing students to attend these classes isn’t fair at all. Their reason is that many pupils don’t want to play sports. However, I totally disagree with them. It is the government’s duty to provide facilities, and people shouldn’t be concerned about this. Moreover, even though some students prefer other activities to sports, it is necessary for their health. In other words, health matters!
In my view, these types of courses should be compulsory. Firstly, playing sports during the week improves students’ mental well-being. As we know, the body and the brain depend on each other. However, I’ve seen that many people think that physical health is separate from mental health.Secondly, students will learn how to work as a team. Some sports like football and basketball are considered team sports, so they can practice teamwork.Thirdly, if students are unfit, the government will have to spend a lot of money on medical care. So logically, it is better to spend less money on providing facilities for sport lessons rather than on healthcare later. Finally, it can be an opportunity for students to find their talents and interests in sports. In other words, they can choose between studying, exercising, or doing neither. For instance, I know many people who have been playing sports since school.
In conclusion, I completely agree that sport lessons should be obligatory in schools. Many reasons, such as health, saving money, and discovering interests, have influenced my opinion
