It is argued by some people that more and more money should be spent in science rather than other subjects. I completely disagree with this assertion for plenty of compelling reasons.
To begin with, one of the major disadvantages is that, merely focusing on science can lead to less time and effort being devoted to other crucial subjects like math, history, and English. These subjects are critical for students’ future lives, but if more concentration is put into science, students can fall behind. When students fall behind, they can struggle to move forward since they have not acquire the basics in elementary school. As a result, students can struggle to find their way in life and become the people they have admired since childhood.
Another compelling drawback of just focusing on science is poor communication skills and a narrow knowledge about the world. When key subjects are receive less attention, students can develop a narrow knowledge of the world and poor communication skills. For instance, subjects like history assist students become historically conscious of the past and they can avoid mistakes that people made in the past. Other subjects, such as English, broaden students’ horizons and encourage them to think more creatively. As a result, avoiding these subjects can leave students unaware of the world around them and poor at making friends and finding jobs.
To conclude, I support spending more money and effort on crucial subjects to help students develop their abilities and become aware of the real world, rather than focusing only on academic knowledge.
