Friendships formed online are not as close as those created face-to-face. I personally agree with this opinion because physical presence helps people connect more deeply and provide better support.
In my country, friends usually spend time together, which strengthens their bond. They go out, share meals, and support each other in everyday life. For example, when I am sick, my best friend brings me medicine. If I miss school, she helps me by sharing her notes. Similarly, when she is preparing for exams, I visit her home to help with chores so she can focus on studying. This level of support is harder to provide in an online friendship, where the distance creates barriers.
Online friends can still offer some emotional support. For instance, they can chat with you and send encouraging messages. If you face financial problems, they may even transfer money to help. However, online interactions lack the comfort and emotional depth of being physically together. For example, when you want to go shopping or eat out, online friends cannot join you due to the distance.
In conclusion, while online friendships can be helpful, they are not as close as face-to-face relationships. Spending time together in person creates stronger bonds and provides better support in both good and bad times.
