Life refers to the overall living condition, including work, financial responsibilities, family commitments, health, social relationships, and the level of comfort experienced daily. Some individuals believe that most people struggle with conflicts more than in the past, while others think that life is comfortable and convenient today. From my perspective, nowadays, adults face different financial difficulties and professional pressure, life today is generally easier because technology and modern services save time and provide more opportunities. Therefore, I believe a comfortable life is better than the past or the present, depending on one’s own workload and happiness.
On the one hand, nowadays, some individuals believe that life is more difficult for adults because they often face rising living costs such as housing, food, healthcare and education, while salaries in many places have not increased at the same rate, so people feel more pressure. In addition, technology allows people to work anytime, consequently, it creates stress to stay connected even after office hours in a competitive career life. For instance, many companies in the IT industry require workers to continuously reply to client emails at night or on weekends, which reduces personal time and can lead to career depression. Similarly, in some cities a young people may both work fulltime but still struggle to buy a house or own vehicles because of competitive and extremely high living costs now compared to the past. Hence, considering these reasons, someone thinks that life is harder and more complicated than in the past.
In contrast, some people argue that in the digital era, life is easier than in the past because of smartphones, washing machines, or some household appliances, online banking, and transport apps. When developing the technology and inventing new equipment to make day-to-day life more convenient than in the past, via able to save time and effort. Moreover, adults now benefit from improved medical treatment and can easily access knowledge online. Although it facilitates improved healthcare and instant access to information, it has greatly enhanced people’s quality of life. For example, people can pay bills or order groceries online within minutes, whereas previous generations had to visit stores or offices in person. Therefore, technological advancement makes life more convenient and has greatly enhanced people’s quality of life.
In conclusion, adults’ lives have become more challenging due to financial pressure and increasing stress however, modern technology supports saving our time and provides more opportunities to enhance our profession. In my view, both approaches have benefits and drawbacks from each person’s perspective, and it totally depends on the current lifestyle of the human.
