However, some people believe that if its continue to increase, negative effects on local residents and the environment will outweigh the advantages.
Firstly, it is reported that tourism has brought several benefits into people’s lives and also to various countries recently. One advantage is the provided job opportunities which are essential for less educated inhabitants as they help to improve their standard of living. Although these workplaces are just seasonal, they have a high boosting effect on the economy and are absolutely beneficial for local residents because they can earn more money. Finally, due to the huge income, the government can improve the infrastructure, leading to better conditions for the locals and for visitors.
On the other hand, despite the clear benefits of tourism, there are several drawbacks. The most important is the inappropriate behaviour of foreign visitors due to excessive alcohol consumption and a disrespectful attitude, leading to serious damages to historical monuments and disagreements with local inhabitants. Not only does damage to the popular sights, but also the increased littering and the higher number of graffiti can cause unpleasant feelings into the local residents lives. Furthermore, the modes of travelling can be extremely harmful to the environment because of the increased level of emissions.
In conclusion, tourism has increased drastically over the last century, bringing several advantages to various countries and companies, but authorities must seek possible solution to these existing hardships.
