A lot of cities around the world are facing some serious problems because of traffic jam. This problem can appear because bad policy about private vehicle and public transportation. To solve these problems government playing big role in there.
Traffic congestion in sometimes appears in the city with big population such as Jakarta and Bangkok. These cities face that problem because these cities have bad regulations to manage the private vehicle ownership and bad public transportation. These conditions make the ownership of private vehicle significantly increase, and most of them have their own transportation to help their mobilities. For example, in Bangkok the traffic congestion is miserable, because of this city does not have good public transportation to help the mobility of their people, it makes most them rely on their private vehicles instead of using public transportation.
However, these problems can be solved with some ways. One of them is, the government can create a strict rule about the ownership of private transportation. The government can rise the tax of private vehicles, and to support this program the government should prepare the solution like adding the number of public transportations in their city. With public transportation the number of private vehicles will decrease significantly. For instance, in Singapore tax of private transportation is very high, but the government provide them various type of public transportations such as MRT and LRT.
In conclusion, the traffic jam can appear because of the bad regulation on private vehicle ownership and bad transportation in that city. To solve this problem the government should create a strict law about private vehicle and provide their people a good public transportation.
