Some individuals consider that global health insurance is poor since people who are healthy should not have to make payment to assist people who are in a bad health situation. Whereas some think the opposite. I completely agree with the former statement. In this essay, I will explain why and give some reasons.
First and foremost, it is unfair that healthy people pay equally for insurance as sick individuals. Those who are in good physical condition should not be burdened with the same insurance costs as those who require frequent medical attention. Additionally, a lot of people already pay taxes, so they should not have to bear the extra expense of health insurance. Furthermore, people have cost concerns which means a lack of income. For example, low-income individuals may struggle to afford monthly insurance premiums, especially when they are in good health and do not frequently require medical services. This can create a financial strain, making it difficult for them to save money.
Secondly, people who are getting sick need to be disciplined about their personal responsibility. If they exercise, run in the morning and partake in healthy food frequently, they do not waste money either by themselves or others. In addition, they have to choose their lifestyle properly. To cite an example, people always face the choices between fast food or healthy food and exercise or lay on their bed after their meal. Therefore, individuals should diminish their bad habit and spend their time on workouts to prevent illness.
In a nutshell, universal health insurance imposes an unfair financial situation on healthy people. Therefore, I fully agree that healthy people should not have to pay to support those who are in poor health, and alternative methods should be explored to address the healthcare needs of the sick individuals.
