The question of whether university education should be free has become a widely debated issue around the world.From my perspective,providing free university education for all students is likely to make a valuable contribution to students’ financial well-being by eliminating their tuition fees and educational expenses.
On the one hand,introducing free university education for all students could promote access to education in many low-income families.It is undeniable that owing to financial constraints and a lack of financial support, many students in low-income families may prefer to work long hours rather than pursuing their future prefessional aspirations.For instance, in many impoverished countries, a substantial portion of sutdents might achieve academic success without facing financial barriers.Consequently,many students can secure a better future and maintain a high level of motivation by obtaining free education.
By contrast, implementing free university education may substantially contribute to the devaluation of schooling among some students.This is primarily because many students may not pay close attention to their grades and academic performance.Furthermore, many students could spend excessive time on social media instead of broadening their knowledge.For example,in many contemporary societies, goverments foster the dissemination of free education among poor students rather than well-off students.As a consequence,this phonemenon not only triggers devaluation of schooling, but also reduces students’ appreciation of education.
To conclude, offering free education is of some significant benefits and drawbacks.Despite its drawbacks, free education may help students to ease financial strain and foster their standard of living.
