There’s some argue over that universe. It should inspire their pupils to gain knowledge about various subjects alongside their own field. I completely agree with this notion as it can enhance students’ chances in the professional field, but education shouldn’t create too much pressure on students.
By exploring various subjects, students would be able to know about different types of problems and how to solve them, which can assist them with increasing their problem-solving capabilities. For example, if competitive programmers start to try developing, they will end up learning how to build websites or apps with their analytical skills. With the latest learned skill, it will be easier for them to be employed. It’s often required to have knowledge from various fields for businesses. For instance, many engineers today are starting businesses in agriculture or medicine, and they are doing great. If they didn’t have any idea about agriculture, how would those ideas even pop into their mind?
On the contrary, many people think that adding subjects that are not from their own field isn’t going to bring any good. I think time plays a role in this statement, since students at present don’t have much time. So if they spend time learning everything that is not relevant to their field, it may be difficult for them to excel in their own field. Most probably, they don’t have the time to cover their own topics. Another big reason is that, in general, it’s difficult for an average student to consume various types of knowledge at the same time. They might end up understanding nothing. So, for students who are below average, things will get worse for them.
In conclusion, additional subjects should be added for students’ own good. But at the same time, it’s important to consider students’ study pressure.
