Band 5+: Walking is known to be beneficial for health, yet fewer and fewer people are walking these days. What are the reasons for this?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

At the present era, lack of walking habit has been a very common issue among the people all over the world. It creates a lot of problems to the human being, as well as to the society. In this essay I will outline some major causes which are made by this problem and give some possible solutions.

To begin with, it is quite difficult to find out all the causes of **not walking regularly**. We need to analyse a wide review on the issue from a different view. A huge number of people believe that (overpopulation, lack of knowledge and education) are highly responsible for this problem. People are not enough conscious about **the importance of physical activity** at all which causes negative results not only on our society but also in our everyday lives. For example, many people prefer using cars or bikes even for short distances, and they spend more time using digital devices, avoiding physical movement.

However, some solutions should be found out to this problem as it has several harmful effects on our community and thus it creates lots of problems. Though the most concerning point is that there is no easy way out of those situations but we need to look at it deeply. Some necessary steps should be taken to solve this problem. Firstly, people should be made understand about the side affects of **not walking**. Government/family also can play an important role by taking several steps, such as creating awareness programs, improving walkways and parks, and encouraging walking through public campaigns or even incentives.

To conclude, although **lack of walking** puts so many negative effects on the present (social, moral and economical) factors still a range of steps can be taken to tackle the situation. People of every sector should get together to overcome this problem.
