With the development of technology, it’s often argued that the issues in terms of control and security of information outweigh the advantages. While I believe that to some extent technology brings some concerns over its control and security of data; however, the advantages it brings to humanity are substantial.
Nowadays, technology is a part and partcel of our daily life. An average middle class person today lives a much more convenient life than of a king in the middle ages. For example, without technology, we cannot even think of travelling to a distant city and come back on the same day. With the advent of radio technology, it has become even redundant to travel to a different city in some cases because verbal communication can be done while staying at home with internet. Furthermore, advancement in the medical equipment made it possible to diagnose diseases early with more accuracy and treat them more comfortably and reliably. Hence, the average life expectency has increased to a huge extent.
Nevertheless, usage of technology is not completely controlable as it became available to mass people. Ill minded people now are more powerful with this technology as they misuse it to harm others and take selfish advantages. For example, a black hat hacker can misuse internet and digital technology of banking system to steal money, transfer illigal assets, and reveal sensitive information. That brings us to another significant aspect of technology which is data. The more digital our everyday life is becoming through technology, the more personal and sensitive information are being available on cloud which can be misused by the cyber criminals.
In a nutshell, it is clear that technology has elevated our daily life significantly, however, the misuse of technology and the uncontrolled usage has caused issues with personal and sensivie and secure information. I believe with government initiative and researching more on this technology, we can reduce the misuse and uncontrolled usage.
