It is argued that rich nations should allow more refugees to enter their territories and support them with eating and catering. I agree with this statement because those nations have the economic power to do so, and this saves many refugees’ lives.
The wealthy states have sufficient economic strength to accept and help refugees. With advanced technology and developed industry, those nations are rich in the world, and their finance is not only enough for domestic expenditure but also allow them to engage in international aid. That is to say, offering refugees food and accommodation will not put a strain on the national budget. For example, Germany has introduced a new financial policy that will spend 3 million dollars on relieving refugees and satisfying their basic needs.
Another reason why refugees should be accepted by rich nations is that this behavior can save a large number of lives. Refugees are forced to leave their hometowns due to war or disasters, and their own government cannot protect them. If they are rejected to enter another country, the only thing they can do is staying in their motherland and waiting for death. As a result, allowing refugees to go to wealthy countries and providing them with fundamental support are saving their lives from suffering. For instance, in the war between Ukraine and Russia in 2022, a numerous number of Ukraine people fled from their homeland and became refugees in other countries like the UK, Poland, and Germany so that they could survive.
