Advantage And Disadvantage

Band 6+: What are the advantages and disadvantages of living in the rular area compared to living in a city area?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

According to some, living in a small town in the suburbs is more advantageous than living in the big city, however I believe that they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

One of the reasons I believe living in a big city is better is because public transport is way easier and more readily accessible for everyone in the city, especially those who work or study in places that are far from where they live, which is something you can’t really do in a small town. Another factor is that big cities tend to have more people to interact with and making friends while in contrast, living in a small town can seem depressing or gloomy since you can’t see a lot of people around you.

However, big cities also tend to have issues with increases in the cost of living and especially the really high cost of housing nowadays, also daily expenses such as transport or groceries are usually a lot cheaper in small towns. additionally, smaller towns tend to have a lot less pollution than big cities which leads to a healthier environment. Many people also appreciate the close knit communities that small towns have which you can’t get in large cities.

Despite small towns having their peaceful and clean environment, I firmly believe that living in a big city is more advantageous for most people, especially those trying to strive for a better income or studying for their dream certificate, therefore I agree that living in a big city is generally better.
