There have been endless arguments over the possible impact of being a solo child in the family. Much as the dispute in favor of the importance of the advantages of being only one child, personally, I believe they are still overweighed by the disadvantages.
On the one hand, some certain benefits of being a solo child in the family are undeniable. Firstly, being one child has more opportunities than being a lot of children in the family. Because parents only focus on their sole children. Secondly, parents spend less money on their solo children. Therefore, they are able to manage their daily expense. Instead of spending children’s needs, they spend their money on basic needs.
On the other hand, I would argue that this phenomenon presents more disadvantages. Initially, if there is one child in the family, the child might feel loneliness. That’s why they have ill-interest in studying or self-development because of a lack of competition. More dangerously, those children are often tempted by the very idea of being befriended on the online such as telegram or Instagram, hence their negligence on real-life relationships. Those children find tranquility in their virtual world and no longer feel the need for real interactions anymore.
In conclusion, although solo children’s opportunities and expenditures benefits are widely recognized. I still think that drawbacks are more significant.
