Social science and humanities could not able to be separated one another. As we know, social science and humanities subject are provided in universities all around the world. It has crucial reasons and purposes why many universities in developed countries encourage to both native student and international student to study this subject.
To be honest and to tell the truth, this is the first time for me to study such a useful and meaningful subject. It is my privilege to learn a good subject from you. Hopefully, this subject will enrich not merely in work place or ministry but also in comminuting with people of the other faith.
As I mentioned that this is the first time for studying this area, I would like to share how I understand social science and humanities from my point of view. First and foremost, social science and humanities might include definition, theory, principle and so on. Besides, those things will illustrate how human being communicates effectively and relate with each other and both non-living thing and living creature on earth. On the one hand, the positive and negative impact of human being on environment. Therefore, human nature and its impact on other thing in the world. Furthermore, this subject will specially focus on human nature such as attitude, behavior, psychology, culture, conflict, belief and practice.
As I mentioned in introduction, developed countries highly concern on this subject in order to build peaceful co-existence among diverse community, different religions and culture. Especially, this subject should be provided in Myanmar’s education system. However, how much this subject is vital for diverse communities likes as Myanmar context, there are a few educational institutes provide it. The worst thing is that people in Myanmar do not know and understand how this subject is worthy to study. There are some reasons why this should be taught in Myanmar context. This subject can prevent people from doing wrong thing and making wrong decision. Consequently, unnecessary conflict and violence will not be occurred in multi-cultural communities. In addition, people realize and change their negative attitude and act positively on others in order to construct harmony society. Last but no least, this will encourage people to take care of environment and discourage human to exploit on nature resources.
In conclusion, I would like to conclude this paper with one of the environmental theologians. According to theologian, “we must love God and our neighbor.” He explains our neighbor means all living things and non-living thing creatures on earth. These are the mains factors why this subject should be studied and applied in communities.
