I consider myself a social, patient and adaptable person. I think these characteristics will greatly help me when living in a host family.
My social nature will make it easier for me to build relationships with the family I will be living with if I will be chosen as a FLEX finalist. However, I think that my patience and adaptability are most important. For example, living in a different cultural setting might cause misunderstandings due to language barriers or different social manners but my patience will encourage me to deal with these situations in a calm and understanding demeanor. Also, my adaptability will allow me to adjust to the new environment and to the family’s routines.
Furthermore, I am very open to learning about different cultures and eager to share interesting facts about my own and I believe that this is what the FLEX program is about.
