Living with a host family for me will be a great opportunity, because is a unique experience where I can meet new people, discover new cultures.
I think adaptability is one of the most important skills that I have which will help me when I will live with a host family. You need to be adaptable, because you need to be flexible when you will move to a different country and live under different circumstances. During middle school I participated in two internationals summer camps, Space Camp Turkey, and in one ERASMUS+ project, where I met a lot of new people from different countries, with different cultures. There I made a lot of new friends, with who I still keep in touch and see each other once a year.
Respect is really important when I will try and live with other people, because everyone needs to be threaten with respect, because they will treat us with respect too. The respect is the main key when you try to create bonds, even if we talk about friendship, classmates or trying to live with a host family. Since I was little my parents learnt me to treat everyone the same and respect everyone, even if we talk about classmates, friends, family members, old people or strangers. This helped me a lot making new friends and creating unbreakable bonds.
In our family the household chores are shared among each member, because my family believes that everyone should be involved in keeping the house clean. For example: I throw garbage bags once every two days and I vacuum the whole house when we don’t use the vacuuming robot, this happens once a week, also I do my bad every morning. I think being implicated in the household chores is really important, because it will help me to become closer with the host family.
These skills that I acquired during my past experience and the values that are present in my house will help me when I will live with a host family.
