A number of people believe earning more money makes them feel happier. In my opinion, although I agree with this, I also think it can have some side effects for several reasons.
On the one hand, having a higher income can make people feel more satisfied. Firstly, having more money helps people improve their quality of life. For example, they can receive better healthcare services or move to more comfortable accommodation and enjoy their life without pressure. Furthermore, individuals having greater financial resources can lead to a decrease in the crime rate. This is because people can have enough money to pay for their basic needs, so they do not have to commit a crime.
On the other hand, although having more money brings several benefits, it still has some negative sides. One of them is that earning a lot of money means that they have to spend most of their time working without any time for others. As a result, people only focus on making money, which means they neglect their relationships and personal well-being. In addition, happiness does not depend only on wealth. For instance, some businessmen may earn a high salary, but they still feel stressed and lonely because they spend most of their time working.
In conclusion, although making more money can help people become happier in some situations, I believe that it still has drawbacks in several situations.
