The better the worker quality, the greater the institution valuation. Employees are valuable intangible assets that help organizations achieve their goals. Some people believe that companies should emphasize individual values during the recruitment process, while others argue that qualifications, such as professional background, and track record should be prioritized. I partly agree with the former view. However, I consider that qualified and experienced candidates are more advantageous to an organization.
On the one hand, there are some reasons why the employer should give more weight to job seekers’ qualifications and experience. One notable consideration is the importance of meeting the company’s objectives. By considering those aspects, the employees are usually constantly exposed to the given tasks and able to complete them efficiently because they possess the necessary skills and knowledge. Not only that, by gaining diverse work experience, employees have already developed a stronger mindset. These have demonstrated the merits of emphasizing those factors while recruiting a new employee to achieve organizational goals.
On the other hand, employers should still take candidates’ personal qualities into consideration while the selection procedure. The significance of this element lies in the positive vibes it brings to the workplace. It is argued that this will create a convenient work environment and strengthen relationships among colleagues.
In conclusion, I believe that recruiters have to focus on assessing applicants’ competencies and employment history before considering their personal characteristic. Finally, there are still many factors that should be taken into account during the recruitment process, beyond job requirements.
