Many animals are losing their habitat and they are becoming extinct because of illegal logging and hunting, and urbanisation. In my opinion, it is essential to safeguard animals because itthreatens ecosystem stability and disrupts natural food chains. This essay will analyze some solutions to prevent extinction.
First of all, protecting wildlife is essential because animals have a role in maintaining ecosystem balance and natural food chains. Many species are components of their ecosystems, where the disappearance of one animal can disrupt the entire food chain. Furthermore, many animals in the forest, such as birds, act as natural seed dispersers, without them the forest loses its ability to regrow naturally and they can lose their food chain due to the absence of plants in the forest. For example, if large animals, like tigers or lions, disappear, there will be many plant-eating animals, like deer. These deer will eat all the plants and trees, leaving no food or shelter for other small animals. As a result, saving animals is necessary to keep our environment healthy and safe for everyone.
To address this issue, there are two main approaches to prevent this from happening to be more severe, and it should be implemented by governments. First, establishing protected nature reserves is essential to safeguard endangered species from human disturbance because it can enable them to reproduce. Second, the government should make a new program to restore the forest, such as reforestation, because planting trees in the damaged forest can rebuild the ecosystem. For example, in Indonesia, there is an animal conservation, called Tanjung Puting National Park, to protect endangered species, like Orang Utan, allowing them to forage and breed without human disturbance. As a result, because of these efforts, it can help prevent species from becoming extinct.
In conclusion, protecting wildlife is important to keep ecosystem stability and prevent disruption of natural food chains. Therefore, the animal extinction issue can be mitigated if governments establish nature reserves and carry out reforestation.
