In recent years, the point of whether paper-based media will be completely replaced by digital ones is debated. I believe, that printed materials will not fade into obscurity.
Physical print will remain, because it has a wide range of advantages, such as causing less harm to health or the need for more careful handling due to device vulnerability. For example, traditional books are still very common, not only because people feel less eye strain, but also they appreciate lack of sleep disruption, battery reliance, and constant distractions, such as notifications. Moreover, tactile sensations play a significant role here, for example, the smell of paper, the roughness of a newspaper, or the glossy surface of a magazine, because it creates a special atmosphere. All of these benefits allow to immerse oneself more deeply in the plot.
Despite this, digital alternatives are gaining increasing popularity. Compared to hard copies, virtual publications may be more convenient due to their high portability (a storage facility for a large number of books and magazines in one place), built-in tools and adjustable settings, as screen lighting. The speed of updates is equally important, which is especially crucial for newspapers and news outlets, as is the convenience of getting more information than you already have with just one click. Addictionally, their lower cost and the fact, that they are eco-friendly, because of the absence of the need to cut down trees, are also important for some readers.
Nevertheless, I consider that, due to the large number of merits of physical print, these two formats will coexist alongside. Besides this, even the rapid development of technology, printed media will not soon vanish from the market.
