In today’s globalized world, the impact of technology has become a subject of debate in recent years. While this innovation can bring certain ethical issues, the main social and economic advantages, in my view, clearly outweigh them.
On the one hand, this digital enhancement can lead to several concerns in terms of private and secure individuality. Sharing too much data and information with authorities, which are not trustworthy and reliable enough, can be harmful. Only one mindless click on the “I agree” button can cause some leakage in privacy of person’s digital identity. This issue might arise also in private relationship, as the reliability of an online acquaintance is quite doubtful in some cases, especially in private networks. The spread of fake news is also another crucial factor that we don’t have to ignore. Especially during unexpected situations, like wars and pandemia , invalid information can play a role as a catalizator for a state. However, there is no guarantee that this is always the case, as a strict and regular control on these systems can result in preventing these issues from happening to citizens.
The main benefit of technology is that this provides more reliability and largely accessibility for people, which play a vital role in the improvement of a modern society. One clear illustration of this is the developed education and a work system. Now, more and more students have an access to a wide range of study tools, which are published online. Students can take a great amount of beneficial courses, even though they live far too much away from the city centers. Distant working is now available in many fields, so employees can fulfill their tasks at home without spending their time while commuting every day. In addition, various technological tools make problems early preventable and easily solvable. Furthermore, the networking among people has become deeply stronger with the help of innovative advancements. A student, who pursues his or her education abroad, is able to connect with her or his family via social applications. At the same time, the revolution of the industry became more speedy since the beginning of 20s century.
In conclusion, although technology may cause certain moral challenges, its benefits in terms of educational and industrial advantages far outweigh the drawbacks.
