It is often argued that rapid development of communication technologies such as smartphones, tablets and other devices to stay in touch, present more drawbacks rather than benefits. I completely disagree with this statement, because those technologies show the range of advantages: opportunity to stay in touch everywhere and safety for citizens.
The main reason why I disagree with this view is the access to communicate everywhere. This is because with the appear of those devices, the issue of long-distances disappeared. By using communication technologies individuals can get an access to their relatives or friends who live abroad, or even run a business on phone. For instance, overseas higher education nowadays is more accessible, therefore parents of the foreign students are not such concerned for their children anymore, because they can write or call children. As a result, rapid advancement provides people with opportunity to live abroad or travel without concerns about their relatives.
The another significant argument is that technologies make live safer. In other words, citizens are able to call the policy or message relatives about dangerous situations. Therefore, predictions or request for help or support can save life of every citizen. A good example of this is opportunity to call to the police or hospital, this request could save life of common individuals. Consequently, with phones citizens can protect themselves.
In conclusion, although communication devices present a few negative developments, I firmly believe that those technologies have more advantages such as opportunity to communicate with close people or protect life.
