Nowadays, the growth of digital books is leading to printed texts being less appreciated. While some view this matter positively, others oppose. In my opinion, this change will provide society with both the goods and bads which I am about to mention below.(Thesis??)
On the one hand, the rise of e-books offers possible advantages. First and foremost, digital texts bring conveniences to people, especially students. In particular, they contain diverse types of knowledge that are equivalent to a whole library and can be carried to anywhere without any problems. Secondly, electronic books are environmentally-friendly. In contrast to paper books which require a great demand of trees, e-texts help conserve trees and reduce wastes associated with traditional books.
On the other hand, the decline in paper books causes considerable disadvantages. To begin with, online books can lead to severe health problems. For example, the excessive screen time used on e-books results in a high chance of eye strain and fatigue, therefore affecting people’s reading experience, living quality and productivity (not clear). Next-> Moreover/ Furthermore, digital books could never resemble the uniqueness of printed texts. It is evident that traditional books’ scent, texture are tactile and the act of flipping through pages is irreplaceable, that feeling and ambience are special and treasurable.
In conclusion, this revolution in reading habits can bring several bright sides to individuals’ life such as portability, great sources of information and so on. However, there are still notable drawbacks that should be taken into account carefully. before people start deciding on what actions to take. (vague)
