This day, social media has been popular among all of us. There are some aspects that got impact, like in journalism. However citizen news are more common rather than tradional outlets. From my perspective, this benefits people for fast spreading information. This essay will explain why does it impact on our daily life.
To begin with, citizen journalism is more convenient than tradional news. Current news are being spread by internet or social media. Whereseas, tradional news still using hardcopy. Although some people still interest for reading it from people, some argue that internet based news are more convenient for readers. Where people could read news in their smartphone. Furthermore, they can take it everywhere they go. For instance, if someone is in hurry on the way to go to work because he woke up late, but he has a routine to read news in the morning. He could just read it one the way to work, either when he is in public transportation or hear it using audio news. As a result, he still could stay updated with the current news.
Furthermore, traditional journalism is more complicated to upload writer’s opinion. If we want publish our writing to newspaper, we need to surpass other competitors also there is some revision to follow their spelling or writing regulation. However, citizen journalism, writer could just write and publish their writing online, without going to their office and submit their work. Therefore, there will be more people interest in journalism, because they can express their opinion easily, without being judge first from newspaper publisher.
In conclusion, social media has make news industry more convenient and easier to read. This advantage will make people interest on reading online news.
