Many of my peers are still in doubt with respect to many career issues. I have been blessed with clarity with respect to my career goals, and thus, I knew the exact path I would like to take. I have exceptional critical thinking skills. Furthermore, I have a natural inclination to investigate the unknowns and tendency for technical research applications. Thus, a career in automation and control was a best match for me.
Throughout my university studies, I always sought for research and practical technical projects that emphasizes whether application for a certain theory or experimentation purposes. I showed tendency towards electing subjects attributed to control theory and electronics rather than communication theory as a sign of me fascinated by those fields specially. Even when it came to my graduation project, I enrolled to one that emphasizes a real-life application addressing a widely spread daily challenge which was hyper markets payment system and proposing a new solution that overcomes the hazy overcrowding lineups with RFID smart solution that is based on automatic detecting of shopping cart contents linked with instant payment.
After Joining a career in one of the biggest Steel Plants in Middle East, I started pursuing the correlation of industrial equipment and academic theory through whether applying an academic result to the core calculations of a process or building machines’ prototypes to overcome certain process challenges. Two examples I would like to highlight to demonstrate that passion, one of them is related to a part of control system with bad performance since commissioning attributed to water pressure control loop which I eventually tuned it manually with Zigler-Nichlos method for the 1st time resulting in amazing performance. Another example is building inspection rover to be used in confined Cable tunnels which were unreachable before. The rover was build based on Arduino controller and local parts and introduced in my corporate innovation conference in 2016.
Having deep technical knowledge in the field of industrial automation as my endeavor is the prime motive for me pursuing a bigger vision in my corporate, the idea is to implement the concept of RD with regards to Metals Process Automation. Having that in mind and in addition to 11 years’ experience in the field, I was always convinced that by correlating and strengthening the academic knowledge bonds with the industry my vision can be achieved. And results would exceed any others as interaction between deep process analysis, long experience attributed to its troubles and enhancements, and advanced academic knowledge.
Finally, my life is a series of little goals which, when they are put together will help me realize my goal which is MSc. in Industrial automation and control. My Bachelor of Science degree was only a stepping-stone. I have worked diligently thus far in my career because I realize that my undergraduate education is only the foundation for much greater things to come. I may have stumbled through some life obstacles which deviated me from this quest, but my goals are high.
