In the last century, computers have been claimed to be the most important invention. However, some people argued that the use of computers was resulting in fewer people having jobs. I agree that computers were an important invention as it helps to eliminate time-consuming work and needs less maintenance compared to human.
In one hand, I can see that some companies starting to let computers do more jobs than before, which result in less job vacancies. Some people with lower educational level might not able to do technical jobs which I believe that computers would be their greatest enemy. For example, nowadays, in pharmacies, they chose to have a computer-based robot to help them pack patients’ medications instead of hiring more people to occupy the job.
On the other hand, computers work more efficient compared to human since it does not require a break and less maintenance price needed. For example, companies only need to pay for its service once in six months, while for human, they need to give them salaries montly. In addition, some jobs that require a repetitive action are mostly time consuming, hence by using a computer, we can hire less people to do the job.
In conclusion to my arguments, even if computers are making fewer job openings available, I still agree that their benefits outweigh the drawbacks. By using computers, less money is needed to be spent on people’s monthly salaries, and less time-consuming jobs should be done, which, as a result, people can work more efficiently in fields that require more concentration.
