In recent times, people prefer using bicycles as way of commuting from one place to another. The case may have occurred due to many benefits offered by bicycles as a form of transportation in comparison with others. In my opinion, bicycles are beneficial to individuals due to its cost effective nature and the heal benefits. So, people should be encouraged more to use bicycles.
Firstly, bicycles are the most cost efficient form of transportation. After purchasing a bicycle, there are no costs allocated towards travelling from one place to another. Although a small amount of money needs to invested to buy a cycle and an insignificant amount for maintenance, the total costs allocated to it are much less compared to traditional mode of transport over a long period of time. For example, I bought a bicycle around five years ago with a couple hundred dollars and spent roughly five dollars a month to maintain the bike. In addition, I have travelled more than a few hundred kilometers in last five years and there were no other expenses. This procedure proved much less expensive compared to using buses and cars.
Secondly, cycling is one of the greatest forms of exercises. Whilst going from one place to another, it helps to maintain our figure while building necessary muscles in our thighs and cuffs. All of these positive changes happens while commuting. As a result, no additional time needs to be invested to exercise regularly. For instance, I have significantly built up my stamina over these five years by cycling. Furthermore, cycling also helped to have a better digestive system overall.
In conclusion, bicycling is one of the most effective ways in which a person can go to places. It not only provides one with significant cost benefits from other options but also builds up one’s health while travelling. Therefore, people needs to be incentivized more to use bicycles.
