The given diagram illustrates the entire process of producing lead pencils, which involves the use of various equipment and steps.
Overall, the process consists of three main stages and is divided into twelve distinct processes, beginning with seed planting, preparing the wood, and packaging the final product.
The process starts with planting. Seed are grown in the ground, and after four months, they are replanted in a larger space. The next step is a 3-year growing process before thinned trees are planted in an outdoor space. After 14 years, the trees are ready to be cut down and used as raw material for pencil production. Once fully cut down, the wood is transformed into thin slats, which are then treated to prevent them from being rotted and left to dry for sixty days.
The second stage starts with sticking the black lead into the grooves with glue. Then, new slat is added on top, resembling the shape of sandwich. This construction is hard-pressed with heat, and after that, cut into singe pencils.
In the final stage, the pencils are painted, sharpened, stamped, and then carefully packages, making them ready for sale.
