Overall, China and the United States were the top two nations in the production and consumption of electricity in 2014, while Korea had the lowest number of the production and consumption in electricity. Moreover, all the electrical production in a country was higher than consumption, excluding Germany, which consumption of electricity was slightly higher than production.
It is evident that China had the highest quantity of electricity both in production and consumption, accounting for 5398 billion kWh and 5322 billion kWh, respectively. America followed China’s electrical production at 4099 billion kWh and electrical consumption at 3866 billion kWh. Notably, the most significant disparity between production and consumption can be observed in America.
However, electrical production and consumption among other nations were significant lower than these two countries. Russia had 1057 billion kWh in production and 1038 billion kWh in consumption, followed by Japan at 936.2 kWh in production and 856.7 billion kWh in consumption. Additionally, the other nations produced and consumed less electricity, with the rank of India, Canada, France, and Brazil. Surprisingly, Germany consumed more electricity at 582.5 billion kWh than its production at 526.6 billion kWh. Besides, Korea was the lowest prevalent country both in production at 485.1 billion kWh and consumption at 449.5 billion kWh.
